The Kent and Medway Partnership Trust
(KMPT) are holding a series of events to enable the public, some of
whom will be service users and carers, to open up a dialogue with
members of KMPT's Executive team in finding out about the values,
visions and future plans of the organisation, and how this inter-links
with KMPT's application to become a Foundation Trust.
The East Kent event is on 11 April, 18:30 - 20:30, at
Anselm Hall (Main North Campus),
Canterbury Christ Church University

invites you to an Open Day on Thursday 19th April 2012 from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.
The centre provides community support and activities via our drop in centre for people with mental health problems. We offer comfort and a listening ear in a safe environment with the opportunity to meet others with similar problems.
Come and have a cup of tea or coffee with us and take a look at some of the activities our members do such as gardening, woodwork, computing, sewing, music, art and photography (and maybe try some yourself).
We look forward to welcoming you.
If you would like any further information please phone either Lynn or Jean on 01227 370200 or email jeanarnold@umbrella.plus.com

Wellbeing for older adults
- Do you often feel anxious or panicky?
- Do you often feel low in mood or energy
- Do you feel alone and isolated
- Do you find it hard to relax
- Do you find the past upsetting and difficult to let go of?
Help may be available if you answered yes to any of these questions. KCA (NHS psychological therapy providers) offer a FREE eight week wellbeing programme, which runs once a week for two hours and focuses on common problems faced in later life. Techniques used include CBT and Mindfulness. The programme begins on 3 April.

SpeakUpCIC advisory group
SpeakUpCIC are setting up a group to advise them about campaigning against the stigma and discrimination towards people who have experienced mental health distress. They invite individuals and/or organisations with an interest in this subject to come and take part in this group. Individuals or organisations who are able to bring new and exciting ideas that may be achievable in partnership with SpeakUpCIC in helping reduce stigma and discrimination will be welcome. They hope that from this campaign group ideas will be gleaned from which a bid for funds to Time to Change will be written in order to raise the resources to undertake the project.
